Karin Tausz

Biography

Karin Tausz graduated from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. She then held several positions as a strategist, manager and innovator with a focus on the mobility sector, including Head of Mobility Solutions at Magna Steyr and Program Manager Autonomous Vehicles & New Mobility at SBB AG. Most recently, she was Head of Corporate Development at ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG. Since 2023 Karin Tausz is General Manager of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency FFG.

Kevin Koosup Yum

Senior Vice President, Hyundai Europe R&D Center

Biography

Dr. Kevin Koosup Yum is a senior vice president in HD Hyundai Europe R&D Center (HD ERC). He has been working in the field of maritime energy system and co-simulation. As a system simulation expert, he has been working in the modeling, simulation, and testing of new energy systems onboard such as hybrid power systems and hydrogen fueled vessels. Now he is leading the research team of HD ERC to accelerate technology development in decarbonization of shipping, hydrogen value chain, electrification and green energy production by creating collaboration between European bodies and the HD Hyundai. Before joining HD ERC, he worked in SINTEF Ocean as a senior research scientist and worked in a Korean shipyard as a sales engineer for LNG carriers and oil tankers. He had his bachelor’s degree in the naval architecture and ocean engineering in Seoul National University and master and Ph.D. degree in marine engineering in Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Having both industry and academic background, Dr. Yum has participated or led various research projects in the new energy system in maritime applications and decarbonization of shipping in Europe, Norway and Korea. He is also a vice president of the Europe-Korea Marine and Ocean Engineers Association (EKMOA).

Gerhard Meister

Vice President, AVL List GmbH

Biography

In October 2021 Gerhard has assumed the role of Vice President, Business Field Electrification at AVL List GmbH. In this role he holds the responsibility for portfolio strategy and global business development in electrified propulsion systems engineering. Gerhard holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Economics from the Technical University in Graz, Austria and a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration from the Open University, Milton Keynes, UK. He has spent many years abroad in the US and in Italy in various engineering and business development functions. From 2017 to 2021 Gerhard has set-up the engineering and test factory operations at the xEV and Smart Vehicle Tech Center in Cavriago (RE), Italy, where BEV and HEV propulsion systems are developed for the Italian and international customer base. With his global industry experience and business acumen, he is committed to supporting the automotive industry in it’s strive to enable sustainable transportation in combination with viable business models.

Jihoon Park

Program Director, Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT)

Biography

Dr. Ji-Hoon Park is a Program Director (PD) at the Korea Evaluation Institute of Industrial Technology (KEIT), where he leads the strategic development and project formulation of national R&D initiatives in the medical devices sector under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE). With over 20 years of experience managing national R&D funding programs, Dr. Park is currently focused on advancing the application of artificial intelligence in medical devices and enhancing the effectiveness of healthcare delivery. He earned his Ph.D. from Yonsei University in Korea and also serves as an adjunct professor at the Yonsei University College of Medicine.

Johannes Hunschofsky

Managing Director, EIT Manufacturing

Biography

With over 40 years of experience as top executive in multinational manufacturing companies in North America, Europe, and Asia, Hannes Hunschofsky is a visionary transformation leader and experienced board member successfully implementing strategies involving business turnarounds, improvements and growth, start-ups, acquisition integrations and reorganizations. He is an international speaker on topics including leadership, manufacturing or business strategy, and has been a lecturer on leadership for more than ten years. Hannes was recently appointed as lecturer at Caltech Center for Technology and Management Education. Together with top class engineering schools, world-renowned technical universities and global corporates, he has designed multiple leading-edge programs and curricula on leadership in general as well as leadership in specific areas of business. His articles and papers have been published in numerous journals and books, both in the US and Europe. As Managing Director of EIT Manufacturing East (European Institute of Innovation & Technology), he makes a significant contribution to strengthening and further developing global competitiveness and sustainable production for Europe as an industrial location. In 2014, Hannes Hunschofsky received the Grand Decoration of Honor for services to the Republic of Austria.
